Producer Agaric alias Patrik Skoog is a techno veteran who released his first tracks already back in 98. During the years he has grown into a mature and skilled producer, which has brought him up to his most recent alias. Under the pseudonym Agaric and the launch of his most recent label, we are, Patrik has reached new heights. With his own interpretation of minimalism, Agaric is the choice of the moment. The first Kontra-Musik release is an Agaric three-tracker. With its funky base line and humoristic build up-break, Subaquatic Mechanic brings new life in to the myth of Atlantis. Playing Games on the other hand, is techno for the David Lynch generation. The a-side and the track Over the Hill instead offers a deep, reverb drenched and soulful techno classic. This is a track that flirts more with Detroit than Chicago but still there is something in the groove that makes it irresistibly funky. Together with the small turns and finesse so typical for an Agaric production, Over the Hill will provide a warm and refreshing breeze to the dance music market. The b-side and the track The Outside starts of with a short Peter Fonda sample from the classic 60: ties movie Easy Rider. What follows is a slow bass cord that reminds more of the drone/doom group Sunn O))) than of techno music. From this point on, the track slowly builds and transforms itself into old school sounding techno funk. You have to hear this to understand, and you will.
