Arno Cost:
Arno Cost is one of France's most talented up-and-coming music producers.
Discovered in January 2006 by Mathieu Bouthier of Serial Records, he signed
to that label, along with two of his friends: Norman Doray (producer of
Jetlag), and Pierre de la Touche.
Their collaboration together on the release "Let U Go" quickly became a
smash hit on French radio stations, and among many leading international
djs (like Didier Sinclair, Antoine Claraman, Hoxton Whores, Narcotic
Thrust, and Muttonheads . . .).
His first release "Let U Go" quickly became a smash hit on French radio
stations, and among many leading international djs (like Didier Sinclair,
Antoine Claraman, Hoxton Whores, Narcotic Thrust, and Muttonheads . . .
just to name a few).
Also in 2006, he remixed a version of the Geyster's tune "Under the Fuse of
Love," which quickly soared to second place on the UK club charts . . .
where it saw success for several weeks. Later that year, he produced some
remixes for The Freshmakers, one for Serial Crew (Boss), another for Da
Sushiman (Ledge Music), and covered the well-known Michael Jackson classic
"Thriller" ("Rilod" - Nice Music).
Now Cost truely defines his style with the hit track "Magenta," composed
alongside Arias (who originally signed with Serial Record, then with
Kontor, CR2, and Airplay). Their song garnered support from many of the
mega-djs mentioned above ... and from others, too, like Pete Tong, Tom
Novey, Ian Carey, and Sebestian Ingrosso. First released during December
2006 in Germany, it became one of the most-played tunes at "The Amsterdam
Dance Event." And its popularity has only spread since then, thanks to
awesome remixes by Dave Spoon (Toolroom) and Tom Novy (Kontor). "Magenta"
seems to be THE song of early 2007!
Music has always fascinated Arno. At a very early age his parents immersed
him in pop music and disco; and he first began producing back in 1999 in
his bedroom. His influences & inspiration include -- but are not limited to
-- Disco, Italo-Disco, "The French Touch" (Daft Punk, Benjamin Diamond,
Alan Braxe, Philip Zdar, etal.), and he greatly admires artists like Stuart
Price, Axwell, Lifelike, Eric Prydz.
Arno Cost is currently in the studio fashioning new sounds for 2007. He's
also working hard to finish his first album, scheduled to come out in 2008!
In the meantime, you can hear him every month spinning with his friend
Norman Doray at Paris's most premier hotspot, "Queen Club" and on Radio FG
two tuesdays a month.
