Following the success of Intelligent Audios first release earlier in 2009 from Trademark, the London based label is back with more forward thinking electronic music. Forces Of Nature provide 8 tracks ranging from deep and tech house through to laid back broken beats and even a splash of D&B.
Forces Of Nature are stalwarts of the UK electronic music scene, having formed in the mid 1990s on the UKs south coast at a time when, in their own words "music was surging forward in a wave of ever-faster junglist breaks and techno sounds, while simultaneously reaching back to the jazz of the 60s and the soul grooves of the 70s and 80s for inspiration." The original members Chalke LOM and Tony Reeves were (and still are) prolific producers, with particular career highlights including a release on LTJ Bukems Earth series and a live album with the band Prism. In 2009, two became three as they invited long-time collaborator K-Fish to join the setup. Their genre-crossing sound is always underpinned by a deep and groovy sensibility.
Forces Of Nature are also known for their legendary live gigs and radio shows along the south coast, and this combined with their musical diversity got Intelligent Audio hopping up and down to work with them. Further EPs and live shows will follow this debut release.
The concept of Intelligent Audio is quite straight-forward and yet it¿s not a strategy often adopted by other record labels. Artists are invited to fully express themselves without being limited to genres. Every release is split into two EPs covering different styles. The IA 1 stream will focus on house and techno while IA 2 focuses on other forms of electronica.
Regarding the wide ranging musical concept of the label, founder Clare Large explains, The vision for the label is to release quality, consistent, well produced, excellently and excitingly programmed, amazing, inspiring electronic music. I would like to build Intelligent Audio as an interesting brand where people know they will get quality from wonderful artists, but not the specific genre. I intend to release anything that has soul, emotion, and that makes me groove, and smile.
Future IA releases are planned from Kirk DeGiorgio, Vince Watson, Joplin and Clare Large. For more information on IA please visit www.intelligentaudio.net
