His early releases featured on seminal labels like Dance Mania, Relief Records and Djax-Up-Beats and fused the Chicago jack sound with the harder edge of European techno. The original 'She's Fine' was released on Rush's Kne' Deep label in 2007. Six years on, 2013 sees Gary Beck work one of his toughest releases to date. The one track release is relentless. A heavily distorted kick drum underpins numerous ride cymbals and snare roles that nestle in between a crisp hi-hat and snapping snare. DJ Rush's sleaze-laden vocal flits in and out of the mix with with archetypal Beck panning-delays. Gary's uncompromising take on a an already full-bodied original is sure to lead to madness on the dancefloor. Mark Broom has a long and illustrious career in UK techno. His 20 years experience not only shows in his sculptured releases, but also in the imprints he has worked with over these years; namely Pure Plastic, Theory Rec, B-Pitch Control, Soma, Saved & Cocoon. The EP consists of four original tracks from Mark. The title track, "Salvo" is tough, main-room techno. Pulsing sub-bass sits beneath circling synth stabs and straightup, crispy percussion. "Eye" lends itself to the deeper side of Broom's productions; classy, restrained, and wondrously effective. "T Bone" brings a twisted funk to the EP through a stomping bassline and a truly addictive hook. Closing the EP is "Cell Block", the most full-on of all the tracks on the EP. Droning synths, murmured spoken word and relentless bass culminate in an intense 6-minute workout. Following on from the massive split EP from Gary Beck & Mark Reeve, Harvey McKay brings his first release on BEK Audio. Over the past few years Harvey has released his work on labels like Soma, Saved, Drumcode & 8-Sided Dice garnering attention from technos top players. Known for a deep, stripped yet tough and grooving sound, Harvey¿s productions are always to the point; and Chiral doesnt stray from this mantra. Chiral is a behemoth track. Sitting above a wondrously thick and bassy kick drum rests a straight synth stab and pulsing pad that sparingly bends up and down building tension in the track. Tickling percussion plays throughout the entirety of Chiral, but is capped by his delicately placed cymbals and splashes.
