Noir Biography

The last couple of years have been extremely exiting and busy for Noir
(real name René Kristensen). Producing and dj'ing since 1996, Noir gave up
his daytime job in 2003 to focus and concentrate on his dj and producing
career. In 2004 Noir spend most of the time in the studio and signed up
with Lifted Music for various productions - most of them now signed to
major labels. Producing and remixing under different aliasses such as Noir,
Decaff, Soul Flava, RNK, Premier, Black Magik and Black Mambo to name a
few, his signings to numerous respected labels, have made his tracks more
than well known all over the world. Noir has been collaborating with great
artists such as Roland Clark and Katherine Ellis and remixed by great
producers such as:, Chris Lake, Ian Carey, Paul Harris, D. Ramirez, Grant
Nelson, Olav Basoski, Robbie Rivera, Granite & Phunk, Raul Rincon, Wawa,
Dave Armstrong, Hott 22, Guy Williams and the list goes on ...

..:: Its All About Housemusic ::..

In 2005 Noir got his debut with signings on Toolroom Records, WYZE Records,
OXYD Records, Deeplay Music, Ego Music, Montana Entertainment (Morjac's
label), Warner & Bonnier etc. Being extremely productive, Noir got further
signings and releases in 2006/2007 to labels like Onephatdeepa, DTPM, House
Session, Compulsive Music, Soulmagic Recordings, Seamless Records, Southern
Fried Records, Data Records, House Session, Purefunk, Juicy Music, Gossip
Records and more.

..:: Riding the Charts ::..

Noir's track "MTV" was released in late 2005 in Scandinavia and instantly
got nominated to "Upfront Track of The Year" at the Danish DeeJay Awards.
The track was also released as a Toolroom whitelabel in late 2005 with the
Public Domain remix and hit the top of several charts incl. No.1 on the
MixMag Harddance chart. "My MTV" was officially released worldwide by
Toolroom Records in time for WMC in Miami 2006, with a massive remix
package including remixes by: Ian Carey, Chris Lake, Paul Harris, D.
Ramirez, Sex On Monday, Public Domain. "My Mtv" hit the charts big time.
Besides seing support from Djs all over the world it hit No.2 in the Buzz
Chart and No.4 in the Miami Buzz Chart. Also it hit No. 1 in the Beatport
Sales Chart and stayed in top 10 for more than 3 weeks. At the same time it
was No.1 on Dj Download while Traxsouce had Decaff in the sales chart top
10. Also Noir's release on WYZE Recordings "All About Housemusic" went no.
6 in the Buzz Chart on Pete Tong's Essential Selection and was in the top
10 Sales Chart on Traxsource for at least 3 weeks. The track had amazing
reviews and support from some of the greatest dj's all over the world. Like
"Noir - My Mtv" and "Decaff - Helpless" the tracks "Soul Flava - We Got
Love", "Noir - All About Housemusic" and "Noir vs. Nu Rhythmix - All About
Babylon" all went top 3 on the Traxsource sales top 10. "Soul Flava ft.
Katherine Ellis - We Got Love" and "Decaff & Roland Clark - Helpless" were
both appointed "Single of The Week" by DMC Update.

..:: The dj'ing ::..

Noir has been dj'ing since 1997. He got his first residency in a club
called Rendez Vous playing everything from Hip Hop, soul, 70's funk to
House & techno. After 3-4 years of intense dj'ing he narrowed his set down
to playing only House. This brought him another residency and the chance to
start up a houseclub "V4" which is now (and has been for the past 6 years)
one of the finest and most popular clubs in Denmark. V4 was nominated "Club
of The Year" at The Danish Deejay Awards 2003 and Noir himself was
nominated "Upfront Deejay of The Year" at The Danish Deejay Awards 2004.
After hosting his own weekly upfront radioshow "Groovecouch" for about 3-4
years, Noir decided to concentrate Radio-wise on filling the demand for his
guest sets to radiostations all over the world. Noir has been playing
alongside some of the worlds greatest djs through the years and now plays
clubs and radioshows all over the world and is getting known for always
trying to break new tracks and set the clubs on fire with his playful and
energetic dj sets.

2006/2007 seems to become even more exiting both dj- and release wise. More
releases are already scheduled on Toolroom Records, House Session,
Onephatdeepa, Juicy Music, Soulmagic Recordings, MoS/Data Records and many
more. Some of the tracks include collaborations with the likes of Roland
Clark, Kathrine Ellis, Granite & Phunk, Lucien Foort. Remix wise Noir
pushes the buttons on tracks from i.e. Granite & Phunk, Patrick Alavi,
Superbass, Micha Daniels, Exacta and many more.
